What do you think would interest your teen most: an opportunity to immerse himself or herself in a different way of life or the chance to find friends who share similar interests? Exchanges Canada has teamed up with organizations from coast to coast to offer a wide variety of youth exchanges and forums to enthusiastic, curious and self-discovering teens like yours.
Youth exchanges give young Canadians generally between 12 and 17 years of age the opportunity to walk in the shoes of youth living elsewhere in Canada. Depending on the type of exchange, your child could spend time visiting and hosting an exchange partner from another part of the country.

Youth forums are workshops and conferences that bring together young adults generally between the ages of 14 and 25 who share a passion for Canadian institutions, history, official languages, sports or music. Through Exchanges Canada’s delivery organizations, your son or daughter could spend time exchanging ideas, learning about Canada and exploring a Canadian community.

Once you’ve found an opportunity that you think would pique your teen’s interest, talk to him or her about it. Chances are, your son or daughter is eager to break free from routine, make lifelong friends and discover new passions.
